Swipe Mobile Inc. Cookie Notice

Cookie Notice

Last updated: April, 2025

This Cookie Notice explains how Swipe uses cookies and similar tracking technologies on our website and services. We believe in being honest and straightforward about what data we collect, so here’s the scoop:

What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files placed on your device (computer, smartphone, etc.) when you visit websites. They are used to remember information about your visit, like your preferences or whether you are logged in. Cookies can be “session cookies” (which expire when you close your browser) or “persistent cookies” (which remain for a period of time or until deleted).

How Swipe Uses Cookies

Swipe uses cookies only to the extent necessary to provide and improve our service. We do not use any advertising or invasive tracking cookies. Specifically, on Swipe’s site and app, you may encounter:

  • Essential Cookies: These are necessary for our site to function. For example, when a merchant logs into the Swipe dashboard, we use a cookie to maintain that login session securely. Without this, the dashboard wouldn’t remember that you’re logged in as you navigate. Similarly, if we have a claim filing form, a cookie might help preserve your progress if needed. These cookies do not collect personal data for marketing; they’re just for core functionality.
  • Preference Cookies: If our site offers options (like remembering your language preference or that you’ve dismissed a one-time announcement), a cookie may store that preference so you have a smoother experience next time.
  • Analytics Cookies: We use a very limited analytics setup – possibly Google Analytics or a similar tool – to understand how visitors use our site (which pages get the most visits, where users come from, etc.). This helps us improve content and usability. Any analytics cookies we use are configured to be privacy-friendly (for instance, IP addresses may be anonymized, and we haven’t enabled any advertising features). The data collected is aggregated and not used to identify or target individual users.

No Third-Party Advertising Cookies: Swipe does not allow third-party advertisers to set cookies on our site, and we do not use cookies for targeting ads on other sites. You will not see ad banners on Swipe’s site, and we’re not tracking your browsing elsewhere.

Your Choices

When you first visit our site, you may see a banner or notice about cookies (especially if required by law in your region). By continuing to use our site, you consent to our use of cookies as described. However, you have options:

  • Browser Settings: You can set your web browser to refuse or delete cookies. Most browsers have settings to manage cookies under their privacy options. Keep in mind, if you disable all cookies, some parts of Swipe’s service (like logging into the merchant dashboard or filing a claim) may not work properly, since those rely on essential cookies.
  • Analytics Opt-Out: If we use Google Analytics, you can opt out of Google Analytics tracking by using a browser add-on provided by Google or by adjusting your advertising preferences (though as noted, our GA is basic and not for advertising).
  • Cookie Banner: If our site displays a cookie consent banner, you can choose to decline non-essential cookies. We’ve designed our service to run only essential and minimal analytics cookies by default, so the banner may simply inform you of their use.

Do Not Track Signals: Some browsers allow you to send a “Do Not Track” (DNT) signal. Currently, our site doesn’t respond to DNT signals because there is no industry standard for DNT. However, as stated, we already limit our use of tracking to essential and anonymous analytics, which are generally in line with the intent of DNT (not to track individual users’ browsing habits).

Updates to this Notice

We may update our Cookie Notice if we ever change what cookies we use (for example, if we adopt a new analytics tool). If changes are significant, we’ll post an updated notice on our site. The “Last updated” date above indicates when this notice was last revised.
